The Astrologist showed at Caulfield today that the stars are aligning for hard working racehorse syndicators Bennett Racing.

Sent out a $10 shot in the first race, much to the delight of his owners, the Tony McEvoy trained two-year-old defied all rivals to win the Whisky Wine & Fire Handicap (1200m).

Dwayne Dunn piloted the son of Zoustar, showing all his guile in the run to the line.

Challengers came from everywhere but The Astrologist was impassable in the final stanza.

The in-form gelding defeated Danny O’Brien’s Can’t Be Done by 0.2L, with Igniting, trained by Ciaron Maher & David Eustace, a further half length away in third place.

It was a superb ride by the talented hoop and a terrific effort by the Tony McEvoy stable.

Delighted owners snapped up the double figure odds, amid excited scenes at Caulfield.

Bennett Racing purchased The Astrologist at the 2018 Gold Coast Yearling Sale under the watchful eye of canny horse spotter Phil Wells.
